Has it really been so long since I posted? I guess I got distracted…again! No matter, here I am back once more and with some stitchings too!
Here we have a Golden Axe dragon statue, Aarbon from Shadow of the Beast (the purple dude), a lovely fairy from Link to the Past, Shiva from Final Fantasy VI and a grumpy-looking Boo. They’re all on plastic and I haven’t cut them out yet, because I have been busy with my WIPs.
This will be Adam from Streets of Rage when it’s done. Right now it’s just the black. 🙂
I know it’s not a new project, but I’ve also been working on my Arena stitching:
It’s really starting to look like something now, instead of just a weird brown blob!
And finally, KingCon 2015 was announced! I really want to get a table again but the price has gone up dramatically. I think it’ll probably be worth it though. Watch this space!

KingCon, Durham City’s first geek convention, was on October 12th. I was super nervous but it turned out to be for no reason, as I had a great time and I did quite well! The thing I worried about most was not having enough stuff, but in the end I didn’t need to worry.
Here’s my stuff, all laid out on my bed the night before the con:
Some new stuff and a few older pieces too. Plenty of variety! Here’s my table at Durham’s Gala Theatre:
I ended up being so busy I couldn’t take any more pictures, but by the end of the day my table was looking very bare! My ever-popular mushroom magnets did well, as did the Pokeball badges. I said goodbye to the Phoenix, Snorlax/Tails and Alisia Dragoon, as well as the majority of the small stitchings. I also sold some of my handmade jewellery too!
There were two things that happened that were really awesome. First, I ran out of business cards, which I can only assume is good. Hope some custom work comes my way from that! The other thing is that when people approached my table and saw that the items were actually stitched, they would smile and say things like “that’s so cool” and “awesome”. I always worry that people won’t like what I stitch but I’m glad I made what I did as they were quite popular!
Anyway, that was KingCon, my first foray into the world of conventions. I’m really looking forward to doing another one, but first I have a load of jewellery to make for a couple of fairs I’m doing with my friend Lynn. Will be posting about my jewellery soon, as well as my finished Nei!

I love the sprites for FFV so recently I decided to stitch up a few of my favourites. I chose to stitch Shiva first, because I absolutely adore her in all the forms she’s taken throughout the years.
She still needs washing etc but I think she turned out quite nice. 🙂
For my second FFV sprite I’ve chosen Calofisteri, otherwise known as WoodSprite. This one is only in the early stages but is going well so far!
I will update with progress on this piece very soon. I’ve been making a load of other things as well and my next post will be featuring some of those!
tnitnetny really pulled out all the stops on this one. It only took her a couple of days to complete our quilt, and here it is:
She also embroidered the Sprite Stitch and Child’s Play squares!
I love how it turned out, and I want to thank everyone who got involved 🙂
Our plan now is to get organised and send it to the Penny Arcade / Child’s Play dinner where it will be auctioned off. Hopefully someone there will love it as much as we do, and give lots of money! 😀
Some other news now.
I haven’t been posting anything I’ve made lately because I’m working on a set of gifts in the current Sprite Stitch mini-swap. When my partner receives them, I’ll be able to post about them here. What I can say is the first one (that I’m working on now) is turning out really nice!
Also, someone on deviantArt told me that Game Arts tweeted about my Justin and Feena stitchings on their Twitter! I have thanked GA, of course, and they told me they were “very impressed” ! That made me happy 😀
Many thanks go to all the people who found me because of that tweet, fav’d my work, and added my stuff to their dA group, #Icarians!
Back soon with more stuff! 🙂

Alliteration aside, those of you who follow what I do here will already know that I’ve completed five squares for the Sprite Stitch charity project.
Today, I cleaned and stretched them all and got a few snaps of them before I send them off to tnitnetny!
Here they are, almost dry, on a bath towel 🙂
People keep asking me if I’m sad to see them go…and in a way I am, because I put a lot of work into these squares. But I’m also happy that they are going off to be part of something special 🙂
Also, I tried to come up with patterns that I liked but wouldn’t necessarily make for myself – for example I love Shiva, but if I was making one for myself, I would choose a different image of her. Same for the rest of the images I used. Also, I have ideas for similar projects but different enough that these squares are all one of a kind items (or I hope they are, anyway!)
I hope that whoever ends up with our finished project takes good care of it, remembers all the hard work we put into it, and ultimately what we did it for 🙂
Lots of thanks go to:
my best friend Nick – for his encouragement and all-round awesomeness
my crazy family – for their support and help with the little things
everyone who commented here on the blog and on deviantArt – your feedback means a great deal to me
and the awesome people of Sprite Stitch!
Well, almost at the end of this project…but of course I have many more lined up, as always 😀

Firstly, apologies for a lack of posting in the last week or so…I’ve mostly been stitching as well as spending some time gaming with my best friend (he’s pretty much the only thing that keeps me sane in these huge stitching sessions!)
But, as the title suggests, I completed Shiva!! (Stand back for best effect, lol.)
It’ll need a wash and iron but I’m so pleased it’s finished. And it looks ok! I think. Comments are very welcome!!
So, that’s three of my pieces for the Sprite Stitch quilts done…I have six more to go. I think I might drop the Super Metroid and Link to the Past ones if I start to run out of time, though. However, I’ve already started on the FFVIII Rinoa piece (I’d show a picture here but it’s kinda boring to look at – so far it’s about 20 stitches of off-white lol).
I’ve also started work on one of my pieces for the Patchwork Gym project – doing Staryu/Starmie first.
Pics of both WIPs soon! ❤
A brief update on this week’s progress:
This is the point, for me, where stitchings start to look a bit weird. Some colours seem to me to be a bit off, or just plain odd – this always happens to me, though. At such a time I just carry on, knowing that it’ll look fine when finished. And I hope to be finished very soon (mostly cos I’m tired of blue!!) 😀
Meant to get this posted up on Sunday but I’ve been up to my neck in computers, as well as various other things that have required my attention 😀
I haven’t done a great deal to this in the last week, but now the computers are (mostly) done I should be able to pick up the pace 🙂
As you may have noticed, the post title mentions “something new”. Yes, I started another stitching, when I really shouldn’t have. Just something small – I was stitching the black while babysitting Windows installs / loading bars / etc. I’m not going to reveal what it is just yet though…unless anyone can guess what it is!
It’s fairly small, and fun to do, but I probably won’t get back to this one for a while what with all the quilt things I’m doing. But it will be back! 😀
Stay tuned! ^^
Been working on this a bit more, but as always in these early stages I feel like I’ve done hardly anything at all! Here’s what I got since the last update:
I’ve been concentrating on the hair in the last few days – in the left side of the square. It’s been difficult because the shades of blue are so similar, but I’m getting there 😀
Just a quick update to show my progress on Shiva. So many different shades of blue – it’s hard to tell them apart sometimes. But, I feel it’s going well and I’m happy with it so far.
It looks a bit more of something than my last picture of it, huh? I think I would have done more but I played some FFXIV with my friend at the weekend 😀
More soon! ^^
