Yes, I love Skyrim. Not many people I know don’t, to be honest. (That’s pretty much the reason I haven’t posted a lot recently!)
So of course I found a way to give some (more) cross stitchy love to my current favourite game!

Hello again all. Hope you had a lovely Christmas / Significant Holiday!
Just a brief post with some new pieces, all small!

First, my entry into the Sprite Stitch mashup challenge!

Skyrim + LttP = very cheesy entry. But it was enjoyable to make!

Next, my tree decorations from Shining Force III!

I’m putting felt backs on these now. I didn’t get around to it before Christmas as everyone in my house had the flu! I want to put icons like these in my Etsy shop, so I will be making more!

Seems like most of the pieces I’ve done this year have been for other people! But that’s ok, I love to give gifts and it’s nice to make other people happy!
This time, birthday presents. For my superspecialawesome best friend Nick and his twin brother Alex (who is also a long-time friend). Their birthday was on 29th November and I worked my fingers off (in between sessions of Skyrim, of course) for two weeks to get some gifts made.

I gave the Samus and the Distant Worlds logo to Nick, and the Skyrim “Dragon Soul” achievement icon to Alex. Hope they liked them!

Having a few days rest from stitching before I go back to my current project, another Elder Scrolls themed piece! WIPs soon, I promise!

I’m at it again. Can’t seem to leave it alone! Just want to make sure everything’s correct, maybe add some stuff, remove some stuff, that sort of thing.
Apologies to anyone who might be looking for my pattern list, the page is down while I review / update it. They aren’t gone, though and will be back! In the meantime, I suggest going to the new (ish) Sprite Stitch wiki page. It’s serving as our pattern database and contains links to all the patterns on the forums. It’s updated very regularly by spinuntilyoufall (who does a great job!) and is very well organised

Sprite Stitch Mini Swap 2011 ~ Part Two!

Yay! Shelby, aka RAWRmonster, received the gifts I made for her recently. So now I can show them! Here’s a picture taken at their new home:

She loves Ocarina of Time so I used that as my theme.
There is a wooden sign with an insert that has RAWRmonster in Hylian cross stitched on it, a magic bean necklace and a bag with the Spiritual Stones cross stitched in metallic thread. Also a card in the style of Zelda’s Letter (not awesome, I kinda rushed it).
I went slightly overboard on the size, I know (it was meant to be small items!) but the first sign smashed and all I had left to use was some pine. To be fair, I did make the sign self-assembly so it may have been just over the theoretical size when in pieces, hehe.
But RAWRmonster seems to be happy and that’s all I really wanted!

Sprite Stitch Mini Swap 2011 ~ Part One!

Part one because I’ve just sent my gifts out today, and also received some! (Part two will happen when my gifts arrive at their new home, of course.)
Isabelle, otherwise known as Craftymaster90, sent me two lovely stitchings as part of the mini craft swap.

First, this gorgeous version of the dragon symbol from The Elder Scrolls series.

She also sent me this lovely FFX Lulu, which she designed from scratch!

I can’t tell you how much I love these two pieces!
Isabelle is leaving it to me to frame / finish these however I wish, and I hope I’ll come up with something equally as wonderful as they are!

Busy – with secret stuff!

Sorry for not posting anything recently – I’m working on a number of projects I have to keep secret for the moment. Some are for the mini-swap that’s underway at Sprite Stitch (which I have also organised! very hard work ) and as usual I can’t post about those things until my partner reveals them first! But I will do so as soon as I can. The other thing is something I have to keep under my hat for the time being, but if I am able to I will share what it is. Ooh, it’s great being so enigmatic for once! Everyone likes a mystery, right?

Apart from that, I’ve been doing a bit of drawing, jewellery making…and coming up with some things to put in my etsy shop for the grand opening – whenever that is! Whenever I get time, I suppose

Oh and since my little corner of the ‘net is approaching 10,000 views (not much, I know, but I never expected to get anywhere near that!) I might do a little contest, or something fun like that, to celebrate. More on that very soon!

Sprite Stitch Quilt Finished~!

tnitnetny really pulled out all the stops on this one. It only took her a couple of days to complete our quilt, and here it is:

She also embroidered the Sprite Stitch and Child’s Play squares!
I love how it turned out, and I want to thank everyone who got involved
Our plan now is to get organised and send it to the Penny Arcade / Child’s Play dinner where it will be auctioned off. Hopefully someone there will love it as much as we do, and give lots of money!

Some other news now.
I haven’t been posting anything I’ve made lately because I’m working on a set of gifts in the current Sprite Stitch mini-swap. When my partner receives them, I’ll be able to post about them here. What I can say is the first one (that I’m working on now) is turning out really nice!

Also, someone on deviantArt told me that Game Arts tweeted about my Justin and Feena stitchings on their Twitter! I have thanked GA, of course, and they told me they were “very impressed” ! That made me happy
Many thanks go to all the people who found me because of that tweet, fav’d my work, and added my stuff to their dA group, #Icarians!

Sprite Stitch Quilt update~!

It’s been a little while since I sent my pieces off to tnitnetny. She has been busy gathering up squares and preparing to make the quilt!
She uploaded a photo on the Sprite Stitch forums, showing what she’s got so far:

They are washed, ironed and trimmed…and awaiting some fabric for the borders/sashing/backing/other quilt stuff. We have been chatting on the forums about what kind of fabric would look best, and tnitnetny says she has “an idea for the borders” – personally I’m excited to see what she means!

Grandia Pt.2 – Feena

Second piece of my mini tribute to Grandia – Feena.

64×64, 4096 stitches, 46 colours, on 16ct aida. She looks a little too pink in this pic, I totally blame my phone’s camera for that as it’s nothing like that in real life. I shall update soon with a good pic of both Feena and Justin.

I have to leave the Grandia stuff for a while as there is a mini swap on at Sprite Stitch – as well as participating in it I’m actually organising it! I also have some birthdays and other projects coming up too (including some cosplay!) and they have to be done first.
As for Feena, and Justin – they will most likely be framed soon as I think I’m gonna list ‘em on Etsy!
